Prof. Dr.-Ing. Florian Engstler

has been Professor of Design and CAD at the Institute of Design and Production Engineering in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences since September 1, 2018.

Before his appointment to the Bundeswehr University Munich, Prof. Engstler was employed in the section of seat development at Audi AG. For several years, he had executive responsibility for the seating comfort of upper-class vehicles. Ultimately, he supervised the technical integration of complete seats.

Before that, Prof. Engstler was a research associate at the Chair of Ergonomics at the Technical University of Munich where he obtained his doctorate from the TUM Graduate School in 2012. At this time, Florian Engstler was committed to the further development of digital human models, ergonomic assessment methods, and issues of product and production ergonomics.

In his teaching and research, Prof. Engstler focuses on how to apply systematic product development methods to design processes and methods in CAD systems, thereby also taking into consideration ergonomic issues.
