Chair of Data Science at the IARIA Congress 2026

From 5 to 9 July 2026, the IARIA Congress 2026 (2026 IARIA Annual Congress on Frontiers in Science, Technology, Services, and Applications) took place in Nice, France. The international congress provides an interdisciplinary forum for researchers and professionals to discuss current developments in areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, networked systems, cybersecurity and data protection.
The Chair of Data Science was represented by Yeong Su Lee and Hendrik Bothe. In addition to presenting the paper, Hendrik Bothe also chaired one of the conference sessions. Together with Michaela Geierhos, they presented the paper “Evaluating LLM-based Pseudonymization for Cross-Platform Identifiers”. The study focuses on the pseudonymization of names and usernames in social media datasets. Since individuals often use identical or similar identifiers across different platforms, their profiles may be linked and potentially associated with real people. The presented approach uses a locally operated Large Language Model to replace these details with artificial identifiers. This is intended to make it more difficult to infer the original individuals while preserving selected linguistic and structural properties for subsequent analyses.
