Prof. Peters at the Neubiberg Business Forum

11 February 2026

Human-centered design of AI was a key theme in the talk given by Prof. Dr. Christoph Peters of the University of the Bundeswehr München during the Business Forum of the municipality of Neubiberg.

“What does artificial intelligence have to do with popcorn?” With this question, Prof. Dr. Christoph Peters from the University of the Bundeswehr München opened his lecture yesterday at the municipality of Neubiberg’s Business Forum. Using the so-called popcorn effect, Prof. Peters illustrated how technological developments — especially in the field of AI — often progress gradually for a long time before suddenly gaining rapid momentum. This is precisely the phase we are experiencing right now. The central point of his talk: artificial intelligence delivers its real value when it is designed with people at the center — as support in everyday work, not as an end in itself. The decisive question is where AI can provide concrete relief, improve processes, and be meaningfully integrated into existing structures.
