Application-oriented Research

The M.A. program Management and Media enlarges upon the contents of the Bachelor's program. The focus is laid on research and science. Students can choose between various modules in the fields of economics and management, organizational communication and Journalism.
 

Economics & Management

In the competence field economics and management, specialization in the fields of human resource management, accounting, economics and business and media informatics is possible. We also deal with the challenges of digital transformation for business processes and business models.
 

Organizational Communication

Communication management is an important area of strategic corporate management. In the competence field organizational communication, students will immerse in the world of communication management: political communication, public relations and marketing are important areas of organizational communication. It deals with the integration of both the internal communication (e.g. employee communication) and the external communication (e.g. marketing) into the management of an organization ad well as with the challenges of digitization.
 

Journalism

In the competence field of journalism students will acquire competences that make them qualified for activities in journalism, but also for editorial tasks in public relations, organisational communication and media management. The emphasis is laid on the digitization of media and media innovations. Nevertheless, qualitative journalism remains the central point of reference. In application-oriented research projects, students will acquire project management skills for media projects and will be able to conduct own research: they will design, produce and analyze journalistic products and analyze the impact of media using communication science methods.
 

International Orientation

In English language courses you will acquire international language competence. It is possible to gain ECTS-points at universities in foreign countries.
