1. Registration

1.1 General Terms of Registration

In order to participate in a language course, proper registration is required. When a class is continued, it is necessary to re-register. Registration usually is to be done via ILIAS (follow the link to our courses in ILIAS). To use ILIAS you need to have a user account at UniBw M. Should you, as a new student or employee at UniBw M, not yet have a user account, you can register by e-mail to: sprachweiterbildung@unibw.de stating your postal address in Germany, phone number, the department/institute at UniBw M you work/study at, and the e-mail address you regularly check. Please also state the name / skill level of the course you would like to attend.

Your registration is binding and requires you to pay the course fee unless you cancel your registration in due time and in the proper form (see #4).

1.2 Effects of Changing Teaching Modes on your Registration

Due to changing measures installed for protection from COVID19 infections the mode of teaching may change from online to classroom teaching and vice versa during the course of the trimester. This may happen in both directions either due to increased restrictions as well as relaxation of rules. Your registration for a course is binding for both modes of teaching and classes are continued without interruption as far as possible.

The language center chooses the mode of teaching with regards to safety and practicality of prescribed measures for participants and teachers. While strongly restrictive measures are in place for protection from COVID19 infections, that exclude certain groups of people from participation in the classroom entirely (like for instance 2G or 2G+), online teaching is the preferred mode for classes in order to enable everyone to participate regardless of their personal situation.

Individual participants are not entitled to partial refunds if they do not want to or are unable to continue attending when the teaching mode changes. It is therefore recommended to only register for any class if you generally agree to and are able to attend classroom lessons as well as online video-conferences.
