Workshop "EU Support measures in the field of cybersecurity in the EU funding programs ‘Horizon Europe’ and ‘Digital Europe’ – opportunities, participation rules, and empirical values"
EU Regulation 2021/887 established the European Competence Center for Cybersecurity in Industry, Technology, and Research (ECCC, hereinafter referred to as the Competence Center), based in Bucharest, and a network of National Coordination Centers (NCCs). The Competence Center is intended to act as the European Union's main instrument for pooling investments in research, technology, and industrial development, particularly in the field of cybersecurity under the two EU funding programs “Digital Europe” and “Horizon Europe.” It aims to ensure greater coordination of research and innovation as well as implementation strategies at the European and national levels. The Competence Center is administered by the member states and the EU Commission. A management board has been set up for this purpose, on which Germany is represented by the BSI. The German National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity in Industry, Technology, and Research (NKCS, NCC-DE) is a joint virtual institution of the BMI, BMWK, BMVg, and BMBF ministries, as well as other organizations (BSI, DLR Project Management Agency, and CODE Research Institute), and offers the national cybersecurity community a comprehensive catalog of support services.
Many thanks to all those involved.
