I studied New Technology and Chemistry in Warsaw, Poland where I also conducted my bachelor thesis research at the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) and graduated in 2013.

Later, I have done my Ph.D. at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland under the supervision of Prof. Werner J. Blau and Prof. Jonathan N. Coleman. During my Ph.D., I have conducted research secondments at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany, at Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SNIOM), of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in China as well as at Heidelberg University in Germany.

In 2016, I was awarded Intel Ireland Award as an acknowledgment of my research efforts.

In 2018 I have received a Ph.D. in physics. Then I moved to Germany as a joint postdoc between groups of Dr. Claudia Backes and Prof. Georg S. Duesberg.

Here, I continue my research in an exciting and vibrant field of 2D materials with a focus on noble metal-based 2D nanostructures, their spectroscopic and optical properties as well as applications.
