New Publication: Electrolyte-Gated Graphene FETs for Acetylcholine Detection via Functional Layer-assisted Transfer Approach

19 Januar 2026

Our group has published a new study on a graphene-based biosensor for detecting acetylcholine, a key neurotransmitter involved in brain function. Beyond biomedical research, the platform is highly relevant for toxicology and security applications, as toxic substances such as organophosphorus pesticides and chemical warfare agents disrupt the nervous system by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase. Monitoring acetylcholine-related activity can therefore support the study and assessment of exposure to neurotoxic compounds. This work was carried out in collaboration with the Bundeswehr Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology (Munich, Germany).
