CSE Colloquium presentation by Karsten Urban

3 February 2025

On February 3, 2025, the first lecture of the new year took place as part of the Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) research colloquium organized by Professors Apel, Brünig, Kiendl, and Popp. Prof. Dr. Karsten Urban from the Institut für Numerische Mathematik at Ulm University presented an informative overview lecture on the topic of

"Model reduction for PDEs – Benefits, chances, limitations and challenges".

The subsequent discussion and Q&A session confirmed the audience's keen interest in the engaging presentation. It was particularly well received that the speaker had perfectly tailored the talk to the audience present. Afterward, the attendees enjoyed a sociable gathering with Prof. Urban at a local restaurant.

The CSE colloquium takes place regularly. Invitations to upcoming lectures in the CSE research colloquium are sent out via email in advance.
