CSE Colloquium talk by Daniel Walter

2 März 2026

On February 25, 2026, the first lecture of the year took place as part of the Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) research colloquium organized by Professors Apel, Gerke, Kiendl, and Popp. The guest speaker was Prof. Dr. Daniel Walter from the Institute of Numerical Mathematics (NuMa) at Johannes Kepler University Linz. In his talk entitled “Optimal sensor placement in source location tasks” he provided detailed insights into current research approaches in this field.

The subsequent discussion and Q&A session reflected the strong interest of the audience in this engaging topic. Prior to the lecture, Prof. Walter, who had been invited to the IMCS by Thomas Apel, also exchanged ideas with several colleagues about their ongoing research projects.

The CSE colloquium is held on a regular basis. Invitations to the respective lectures are distributed in advance via email.
