Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Müller

became Professor of Business Administration, in particular Strategic Management at the Department of Economics and Management in April 2021.

Elisabeth Müller‘s research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of strategic management and entrepreneurship. A particular focus of her work is on questions related to the governance and business models of innovation networks. For example, she investigates how innovation networks can best promote value creation of the incumbent firms. Another stream of her research concerns founder- and family-controlled firms, specifically the question of how these firms differ from others regarding various aspects of strategic decision-making and corporate governance.

Prof. Müller earned a master's level degree in International Cultural and Business Studies from the University of Passau and the University Laval (Canada). She holds a doctoral degree as well as a habilitation from the University of Passau. Prof. Müller was a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School (USA) and a visiting lecturer at the Corvinus University (Hungary), the Turkish-German University (Turkey) and the State University of Management (Russia).

Prof. Müller further won several awards for research, teaching and reviewing, such as the Best Conference Paper Prize for Practical Implications awarded by the Strategic Management Society and the Teaching Excellence Award awarded by the University of Passau.
