Research Stays Abroad

A stay abroad requires good preparation

If you would like to go abroad during your doctoral or post-doctoral phase, a number of points should be clarified before:   

• discuss at the professorship whether you are dispensable or can be substituted in teaching  
• check financing options for the stay (research scholarship programs)
• determine a suitable period for the research stay
• find a partner institution

• inform yourself about insurances, residence regulations etc. (e.g. DAAD overview of insurance conditions)
