Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Häusler

held the professorship for Space Technology at the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Universität der Bundeswehr München from 1993 to 2009. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Häusler was awarded the honorary title "Emeritus of Excellence" by the University in December 2009.

Bernd Häusler held the professorship of aerospace engineering at the Department of Aerospace Engineering from 1993 to 2009. During these years, he expanded his field of expertise to include important elements such as the use of space related topics such as communication satellites and navigation satellites. In his research, Prof. Häusler has succeeded in involving the Institute of Astronautics in several ESA missions, including the Rosetta Mission to the comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko and the missions MarsExpress and VenusExpress. Within the framework of VenusExpress, Prof. Häusler also served as one of seven European scientists as Principal Investigator of the mission. The Institute of Astronautics has become well known nationally and internationally for its work and is a recognized institute among space agencies.

The Dean of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, Prof. Ferdinand Svaricek, presented the certificate of "Excellent Emeritus" to Prof. Häusler on 7 December 2009.
