Christian Nathaus M.Sc.

Christian Nathaus has been a research associate at the Chair of Flight Mechanics and Flight Guidance since 2024. He earned a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University and completed the M.Sc. program Robotics, Cognition, Intelligence at the Technical University of Munich. Internships and study abroad stays in Singapore, Israel, and South Korea strengthened his background in robotics and intelligent systems.

His current research focuses on adaptive assistance for manned–unmanned teaming in air operations. He is developing a system that combines tactical situational understanding with observable pilot cues such as gaze, touch input, and speech to enable context-sensitive behavior adaptation for unmanned combat aerial vehicles, while keeping the pilot in command.

Christian Nathaus ist seit 2024 wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Flugmechanik und Flugregelung. Er erwarb einen B.Sc. in Maschinenbau an der RWTH Aachen und absolvierte den M.Sc.-Studiengang Robotics, Cognition, Intelligence an der Technischen Universität München. Mehrere Praktika sowie Auslandsaufenthalte in Singapur, Israel und Südkorea vertieften seine Erfahrung in Robotik und intelligenten Systemen.

Seine aktuelle Forschung konzentriert sich auf adaptive Assistenz für das Manned–Unmanned Teaming in Luftoperationen. Er entwickelt ein System, das taktisches Situationsverständnis mit beobachtbaren Pilotenmerkmalen wie Blickverhalten sowie Touch- und Spracheingaben verknüpft, um kontextabhängige Verhaltensanpassungen unbemannter Kampfflugzeuge zu ermöglichen, wobei der Pilot die Kontrolle behält.
