BIOSPIRE - Optical Engineer in Holotomographic Imaging (m/f/d)

 
What you will do:
  • Develop hardware that enables holographic imaging, ensuring it is tailored for real-time cellular analysis.
  • Take an existing minimum viable product to the next level of readiness for clinical testing.
  • Improve the conceptual optical design and lead the process of building the clinical-ready prototype
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to integrate the optical systems with other components such as software and mechanical elements.
  • Perform rigorous testing and validation of the holographic imaging systems to ensure reliability, accuracy and effectiveness in cellular analysis.
  • Keep abreast of advances in optical engineering and holographic imaging and apply cutting-edge research to ongoing projects.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including researchers and clinicians, to understand their needs and translate them into technical specifications. 

 

What you should bring to the table:
  • An advanced degree (Masters or PhD in optical engineering, physics or a closely related technical field is mandatory. is highly advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the design and development of optical systems is required, with a specific focus on holographic imaging technologies being particularly desirable.
  • A sound understanding of image acquisition systems, together with a nuanced understanding of the complexities involved in holographic imaging techniques.
  • Intermediate mechanical design skills are essential, with preference given to candidates with specific experience in the design of mechanical components that integrate with optical systems.
  • A strong analytical mindset and a proactive problem solving approach are essential for success in this role.
