Dagstuhl Seminar "Privacy-Preserving Authentication"
27 April 2026
Prof. Slamanig recently participated in the Dagstuhl Seminar titled "Privacy-Preserving Authentication," held from April 19 to April 24, 2026. Dagstuhl seminars are held at Schloss Dagstuhl – Leibniz-Zentrum für Informatik and are invitation-based research workshop where around 30–40 scientists spend a week discussing a focused topic in computer science.
The seminar focused on privacy-preserving authentication, addressing current research challenges in enabling secure identity verification while minimizing the disclosure of personal information. Key topics included the design of advanced cryptographic mechanisms such as anonymous credentials, zero-knowledge proofs, blind signatures, and oblivious pseudorandom functions (OPRFs), as well as techniques for selective disclosure and revocation. The seminar also examined the integration of these building blocks into real-world systems, with particular attention to emerging digital identity frameworks such as European Digital Identity (EUDI) wallets.
