in the area of

Towards robust critical networks

 

In an international research project funded by the BMFTR, the following topics are going to be addressed:

  • Define accurate and consistent models for assessing the impact of dependency, availability, and robustness of communication networks and other critical infrastructures.
  • Implement and evaluate solutions to reduce the dependency of the communication network on other critical infrastructures (e.g. power grid).


The successful applicant is expected to participate actively in the research and teaching activities of the chair. The chair offers a team-oriented, motivating work atmosphere, allowing concentration on challenging research questions.

The positions are based on full-time work contracts limited to three years initially. Remuneration is according to the Tarifvertrag für den Öffentlichen Dienst (TVöD).

Applicants should have an excellent Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Informatics and they should have a solid knowledge in the area of communication networks suitable to start research in the above areas.

The candidates are expected to have very good communication skills in English and possibly in German as well as solid programming skills. Enthusiasm, the desire to obtain a PhD degree, creativity, and team-orientation are essential.
