Julian Walterskirchen M.Sc.

Julian Walterskirchen joined the Center for Crisis Early Warning (CCEW) at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich as a research associate in September 2021. Previously, he worked as a research associate, providing scientific support to the IT-Support Crisis Early Warning project at the Universität der Bundeswehr München.

Before that, he worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Innsbruck and as a consultant on prevention of violent extremism at the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism in New York.

Julian Walterskirchen completed a master’s degree in International Relations at the University of Essex and a bachelor's degree in Political Science at the University of Innsbruck.

His research interests include quantitative Conflict and Security Studies, counterterrorism, prevention of violent extremism as well as how the interaction between countries affect intra-state conflict dynamics.
