Abstract

The points in a primary and secondary networks are regarded as being in a state of continuous motion. Accordingly the datum which represents the primary network is also time variable. The adjustment of measurements made for densification of the primary network should model those time variations. This is accomplished by defining the datum through free net constraints imposed on the standard epoch positions and the velocities of the subset pf primary points which are involved in the densification measurements. Datum distortions caused by freak primary net points are treated by S-transformation techniques.
