The French Institut Géographique National purchased in January 1985 a first prototype of the SERCEL TR5S GPS receiver. This 5 channel equipment permits to perform pseudorange and carrier beat phase measurements each 0,6 s. on the L1 carrier. The receiver uses the C/A code and extracts the GPS message. Some technical features are given together with results from field tests performed with one or several receivers.
