Interest-Homepage
(New) Interest-Hompage
In the last two decades empirical research on the role of "situational" and "individual" interest in learning and development has received more and more attention not only in the domain of educational psychology but also in other fields of psychological and educational inquiry.
This "interest-hompage" wants to inform about general trends and new approaches in interest research - especially with respect to education and human development.
A first section of this web-site refers to theoretical and empirical contributions of our own research group. Most of this work is based on a theoretical concept of interest that has been labeled as "Person-Object-Theory of interest" (POI; cf. Krapp, 2000) or "Münchner Interessentheorie"– recognizing the concept's origin: the University of Munich (H. Schiefele, et al. 1983).
A second section refers to persons (and institutions) who have contributed to the field of interest research from different theoretical and/or empirical perspectives. In this way we hope to provide an international information platform for everybody who is interested in this field and to foster the exchange of ideas and results on the role of interest in learning and development.
