Senate

The Senate

According to the Framework Provisions for the Structure and Organization of the Universität der Bundeswehr München, the Senate is made up of five university professors (of whom at least one must be from the College of Applied Sciences), the University’s Equal Opportunity Director as well as one representative of each from the research associates, non-academic staff and the student body. In addition, the members of the Management Committee are represented in the Senate, where they assume an advisory function.

The Senate advises the university management and has the right of initiative. Its main tasks include identifying focal points in research, ensuring support and supervision of talented young scholars, making decisions on internal reforms regarding programs of study, and appointing new professors. In addition, the Senate always decides which legislative provisions are to be issued by the Universität der Bundeswehr München.
