AGIS aims at embedding and promoting current research about GIS in the degree course Geodesy and Geoinformation as well as within the whole university. This is realised within various research works and projects which conduce to the development of technologies, the transfer of knowledge and the development of junior rearchers. Furthermore AGIS provides resources for seminars, diploma theses and dissertations.
At the present time, AGIS consists of permanent scientific employees as well as a number of student assistants. Most of our scientists work on third-party funded projects which focus on fundamental research, applied research and the development and further education.
AGIS is a member of various organizations.
