Secure Management Infrastructure
This study with the European Defence Agency met the following objectives: Specification of the operational requirements with EU missions; this should include: Development of 5 generic scenarios in the context of Network Enabled Capabilities (NEC) to derive tasks and subtasks for developing the needs of a security policy Analysis of generic threats and a generic risk analysis based on those scenarios
- Evaluation of existing technical/organisational means in the EU contributing to fulfilling the operational requirements according to identified criteria and proposal on how those means can be employed and, realistically, further improved/optimised/engineered to fit the military (ESDP) needs to the maximum possible extent
- Evaluation of related concepts and standards of other multinational organizations (e.g., NATO, OGC).
- Definition of an information assurance policy for the defined environment (what kind of data can be safely communicated in this environment, what are the technical elements involved and how they are to be used, handling the information at the end-points, managing the access rights, conditions to be negotiated with the commercial providers, ...);
