Biography
Bene (Benedicto) Rodriguez was born and raised in Granada, Spain where he obtained a BSc in Computer Science at the University of Granada, in Spain. Shortly after, he moved to the U.S.A. and studied at the University of Miami, in Florida, where he received a MSc in Computer Engineering. The completion of these degrees led him to work for Motorola in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as a software engineer getting involved in different aspects of the software engineering process. This period allowed him to develope a sense of opportunities for better tools to organize and manage the vast amount of knowledge that can be exchanged across software development teams. After 6 years in Motorola, he decided to explore his interests in knowledge management further and joined the University of Southampton to pursue a PhD in the field. His research interests include knowledge organization systems, conceptual modeling for the Web of Data and most aspects of ontology engineering, particularly ontology design patterns.
